Professionally installed artificial turf usually costs about $10 to $20 per square foot, which puts a 500 sq ft backyard at roughly $5,000 – $10,000. Pet turf runs a little higher, and putting greens cost about $15 to $40 per square foot. Enter your yard below for your own range.

About $10–$20 per sq ft for the turf, installed.
Installed prices usually include removing the old grass, the compacted base, weed barrier and infill. Small projects often meet an installer’s minimum charge, so get a written quote.
The calculator’s ranges for common project sizes, before edging or drainage. Putting greens cost less per square foot as they get bigger, which is why the largest one is not simply ten times the smallest.
Ranges to plan a budget with, not a quote. Your installer's price depends on the turf you pick, the site and your area.
Most quotes are priced by the square foot, so the measurement matters more than anything else. Outline your yard on satellite to get the area in about a minute, then ask at least three installers for a written quote.
Published figures disagree, so we use $10 to $20 per square foot for landscape turf: the low end of HomeGuide’s range, and a high end that keeps a typical yard close to Angi’s range of real jobs. Two numbers are our own assumptions: pet turf at $12 to $22, toward the top of the landscape range, and putting greens between 400 and 2,000 sq ft at $20 to $35, between HomeAdvisor’s small and large brackets.
